Willsbridge Mill Pond & Path This project was carried out in conjunction with Avon Wildlife Trust to replace the previously existing land platform which provided inadequate access for pond dipping. In addition, a severely eroded section of path on the nature trail benefited from the installation of a timber retaining wall .These works were made possible via a £3,000 grant from SGEB. |

Kingswood Heritage Museum SGEB have provided a number of grants to the trustees of this popular site. Works are often concerned with making the building more accessible for public use. Recently, a payment of £6,500 has been used to ‘box in’ a staircase, making it compliant with fire regulation. This in turn has allowed the first floor of the building to be opened for public access and exhibition space. |

Tytherington Village Hall This has been an important focal point in the village since its creation from the old school building in 1994. Demand for use of the hall is constantly growing and funds have been raised to build an extension to the village hall to provide additional rooms, increased storage, better changing facilities and improved kitchen and toilet facilities, in line with the increased and changing needs of the different user groups. SGEB has provided a £12,000 grant towards the building costs and construction is currently underway |

CATEGORY E: St Peter’s Church, Filton: St. Peter’s is an attractive church built by and large to a high standard. Unfortunately, the building had to make do with a poorly-built reinforced concrete lean-to vestry. This structure leaked and was out of keeping with the main building. Also it had suffered from concrete cancer since the early 1980s and was evidently in need of long-term replacement. SGEB provided a grant of £5,000 towards the £50,000 construction of a sympathetically designed, high quality building. Built of a matching stone to the church, with a beaten copper roof, the structure incorporates a new vestry, office and disabled toilet. |
