South Gloucestershire Environmental Body (SGEB)

was established in 1998 to distribute grants from the Harnhill Landfill site, which closed in 2003. SGEB is currently funded by Hills Minerals and Waste Ltd.

It is a joint venture with South Gloucestershire Council, and works with community organisations to deliver projects of environmental and/or community benefits.

The Board of Directors consists of five local councillors, and seven independent volunteers from across the district.  Meetings are quarterly and directors/trustees are assigned to visit and monitor projects receiving grants.

In order to be eligible to apply to SGEB, projects must be situated within the county.
